Vogueistic Wearables, Louis Vuitton Series and London Design Festival!

I have been on a holiday. Cruising to the Nordics, Baltics all the way to Russia and finally culminating a fab holiday in Spain. Some more notes on my recent travels will be up soon on my blog as a photoblog because travel is to create memories.. not to be reduced to a text. This isn’t the end of the holiday season. Fyi.. NO E.F.F.I.N.G WAY! There is a lot more coming ..more exotic locations :)

This also kind of explains why I haven’t been active on the blogging biosphere. Hopefully, I will be able to churn out some interesting stuff in the coming months for my readers whilst still being able to find time to work and play!

Technology today is not only enhancing experience both virtually and real-time but in many ways also bridging the divide between virtual and real.The gap is fast diminishing between the rhetoric and reality albeit still figuring out the notion of human touch. With a proliferation of internet connected devices, Wearables are getting there i.e. at the point of human touch via a technology format where the need is replacing the gimmick du jour. Today Wearables are not about contextualising fashion but are about reinventing the traditional and conventional formats of usability.  I am a big exponent of FasTech/ Wearables and you will find many instances of mention on this subject in my blog and my social media from time to time.

Most recent being: The New FashTech

The two most innovative work-oriented wearables I’m excited about are (click on the hyperlinks below to go to the parent site):

Images:Bag++ and TruPosture @IndieGoGo

TruPosture – Sweat-Resistant smart shirt designed to promote healthy back posture and help prevent lower back pain with a patented multi-sensor technology that tracks the alignment of the entire spine, the TruPosture system trains you with feedback by visual displays and gentle vibrations to help you maintain your ideal posture.

BAG++ – a bag that is sustainable (a big plus for me!) smart and connected (IoT connected product) comes loaded with geolocation, power bank etc. and is water-proof! This is indeed a new lifestyle range of smart bags (Laptop/ Backpack) that I would personally use!

There are many more interesting products that are as functional. Indiegogo, an international crowdfunding web site founded in 2008 by Danae Ringelmann, Slava Rubin, and Eric Schell and headquarters in San Francisco, California is my go-to site for all things cool offering a broad spectrum of products ranging from Hardware, IoT, Wearables, Gadgets to Technology innovations. The site is a global Crowdfunding engine helping innovative individuals, businesses, and non-profits raise money online and also conceptualizing strategies for customer outreach, social media via cross promotion and re-engagement to make it a successful product launch reaching out the right demographics of investors and customers combined. I suppose any platform such this that is facilitating support services for entrepreneurial ventures for enterprises, startups and individuals is worth promoting on my blog.

I also had the chance to visit and discover Nicolas Ghesquière’s inspirations for his fourth ready-to-wear show as the Artistic Director for women’s collections at Louis Vuitton via an exhibition format that will be open to the public from September 21st to October 18th, 2015.

You can see some of the exciting stuff I did and witnessed at the exhibition. Truly an immersive, digital, interactive and spectacular exhibition:-

While I was gallivanting at the Strand, I also chanced upon the ongoing London Design Festival 2015 exhibiting the works and installations of 10 major international designers – an impressive line up indeed! This was up at the Somerset House (and a series of programs at Victoria and Albert Museum) until 27th September :) However, you can see a glimpse here:
