Digital Nativity + Diversity Dreaming! Summer of 2017!!

I have just begun taking baby steps towards realising a long-held ambition. To start something of value – a  diversity-led marketing startup trying to disrupt the very visages of how diversity can add to a brand’s bottomline and topline imapcting the business via expansion into a consumer base that is diverse! Can’t give out more details but I promise I will be less cryptic and my blog readers and followers across my social media channels will be the first to know! The launch of my new start-up is August 2017! More later… This Blog itself is in transition at the moment. Although content still remains this blog’s strong point, the only downside of not having enough content is being worked out as I write this post! The one thing my readers will immediately notice is that there will be more instances where they will be able to connect with the brands – those that truly offer value and a unique personality to the consumers. I am currently setting up a Diversity portfolio and so my energies are largely focussed on this new project. However, beginning August this year, I shall be more active on my blog. To me personally, this blog is […]

Vogueistic Wearables, Louis Vuitton Series and London Design Festival!

I have been on a holiday. Cruising to the Nordics, Baltics all the way to Russia and finally culminating a fab holiday in Spain. Some more notes on my recent travels will be up soon on my blog as a photoblog because travel is to create memories.. not to be reduced to a text. This isn’t the end of the holiday season. Fyi.. NO E.F.F.I.N.G WAY! There is a lot more coming ..more exotic locations This also kind of explains why I haven’t been active on the blogging biosphere. Hopefully I will be able to churn out some interesting stuff in the coming months for my readers whilst still being able to find time to work and play! Technology today is not only enhancing experience both virtually and real-time but in many ways also bridging the divide between virtual and real almost becoming surreal. The gap is fast diminishing between the rhetoric and reality albeit still figuring out the notion of human touch. With a proliferation of internet connected devices, Wearables are getting there i.e. at the point of human touch via a technology format where the need is replacing the gimmick du jour. Today Wearables are not about contextualising fashion but are about reinventing the […]

#WomanPower – Learning from International Women’s Day; Leslee Udwin’s BBC documentary – India’s Daughter; UN’s Official Theme

In an extremely hypocritical world, we live in, a single day in a year cannot undo the many prejudices that women struggle to cope with around the world! On one hand, there is massive progression on women’s rights and on the other, parts of the world continue to grapple with women’s right to equality and freedom! Case in point – When it comes to celebrating women’s day, nothing can be more discouraging to see one country propagating women’s right and the other restricting it by deliberating on conservative attitudes towards women! I believe it’s time to focus on women’s issues as a whole rather than focus on the bad in one country or one part of the world. Clearly, the issue of sexual violence against women spans countries and continents. BBC’s documentary ‘India’s Daughter’ addresses this very clear divide between progression Vs. the misogynistic mindsets more like the good Vs. evil! Well, I’m not a feminist and I don’t have any agenda in writing about International Women’s Day.. but as a son to a Mother who has taught me to be respectful and grounded, brother to two most adorable sisters and an uncle to a niece, friend and colleague to incredible […]

Amsterdam – Beyond Heineken, Canals, Cannabis, Coffeeshops, Cycles + A tale of 3 Cities + The Bruce Jenner diaries + Androgynous future of fashion

I have been bitten but the travel bug in 2015!! Travel rules over fashion this year for me. There is a lot of fashion wisdom out there and following it can be a bit nerve wrecking! Sometimes keeping up with what’s really transitioning from the runways to the streets can be a daunting task. Also, I refuse to waste my time pondering over how I can display a thrilling demonstration of my fashion prowess amidst keen and informed readers of my blog and my extended social media diaspora – who seem already dazed and bewildered by the “too-much-information syndrome”! I just believe fashion is cyclic and is also socially determined (as suggested by the economist George Taylor).”What goes around…comes around” and that pretty much sums up my understanding of fashion. Besides the fact that I reside in truly one of the most fashion-conscious cities of the world! My love for London is a decade strong. London is home – a city where avant-garde laissez-faire carnival-isq fashion hedonism never stops. You can see abject simplicity to high-fashion complicity in every nook and corner of London ..no wonder, global fashion resides here.  Speaking of greatness, I must mention YOO – YOO is […]
